I was thrilled and honored when I opened my comments this morning to find that Meeyauw, one of my fellow Photo Hunters, has nominated me for a Blogging Star Award. This award is given to bloggers "who shine their light throughout the blogoshere, with humor, creativity, or with their kind and thoughtful nature."
Wow. Now I feel really special. I have to say that I think I'm shining my light with the humor and creativity part. Because my kind and thoughtful nature? Pssshhhht. BWAAAAAHAHAHAHA! Non-existent, or at the very least, highly recessive.
Thank you so much for the honor, Meeyauw; awards always make me feel like a rock star. Now go read some of the links above & see if you change your mind. Heh...
Now the rules say that I should mention that this award originated at Skittles' Place, because Barb is tracking its progress (Barb, I'm sorry to say it's going to hell... If I've been given this award, it is a sure sign that it is going downhill fast.). It does not mention how many others I should tag or nominate, but since Meeyauw nominated two, and I'm feeling so uncreative today, I'll just copy her and nominate two as well.
I know I've already nominated her for another award, but I'm nominating her again, and I'll probably nominate her all over again if I ever get another chance. Molly over at The Red-Molly Picayune Democrat is so witty and intelligent in a freakish "I'm-a-girl-so-why-am-I-so-eerily-knowledgeable-about-this" sort of way. (Yeah, okay, that sounds like I'm being sexist, but I'm not, at all. I just personally fall into certain categories that girls generally fall into, like being bad at math, and she's proudly not falling any-goddamned-where.) She's a big science geek, and she's good with computers, and I'm pretty sure she could even hotwire a car if she had to; she's just kick-ass like that. Go seek her wisdom; you won't regret it.
The other blogger I'm nominating is a newish blog for me, (introduced to me by V. at Violent Acres, whom I would grace with this award, but I'm afraid she'd come after my blood if she thought I, you know, LIKED her or anything). The author at Wide Lawns and Narrow Minds is a sublime storyteller and incredibly spot-on with her social satire. One of my favorite posts revolved around her thinking that everyone on the beach was making fun of her swimsuit when they were actually trying to alert her that she was in frightening proximity to a shark. She lives in South Florida, where it seems no one is normal, so it makes me think I need to live there, too.
So there you have it. Two bloggers whose shining light I seek often nowadays.
P.S. Be sad for me. I discovered our bunny died sometime last night. She was a pain in the ass, and quite evil, but we loved her nonetheless (even though I made a careless and heartless remark about waiting for her to die just a few days ago... I feel horrible)... hell, most times we loved her because she was a pain in the ass , and quite evil. This is her:
