While I was shopping at The Green Market the other day, I came across these. SoapNuts. Have you ever heard of a soapberry tree? Specifically, one that has nuts that you can use to wash your clothes? Crazy, people.
According to the website, these things have been used for hundreds of years by people in China and India. The skins of the fruit release natural saponins, which make them excellent cleansers, for clothes, bodies, and hair alike.
I was skeptical, but the owner (who it totally crunchy hot) said that he's been using them for about a month & no one has told him that he stinks, and I don't think he stinks, so I'm pretty convinced. I'm just really doubtful that they'll be strong enough to work on adolescent boy stench. Stay tuned.
Now you're just making crap up! Nuts that wash your clothes.. pfft. :) Seriously, let us know how they work!
