Photo Hunt Saturday--Smelly

Another week of chaos. And an all-day band competition today. One day, I will get to slow down and breathe, I'm sure of it.

Anyway, this week's theme is: SMELLY. I took this photo in San Francisco in October 2003. Fisherman's Wharf, K Dock. I wish I could even begin to count the number of sea lions that are piled up on one another here. It was quite impressive, as was the smell. But, dang, they're cute, aren't they?!?!?

At the opposite end of the "smelly" spectrum (thanks for the idea, Mark!), I took this photo this summer at the Portland Rose Garden. Lovely, it is...

Wow, there are a LOT of sea lions in that photo! Great shot. I can imagine that all those sea lions would be quite smelly.

Great photos - what are all those sea lions doing there? At first I thought they were dead, but as you mention how cute they are, I was probably wrong.
The rose's colouring is fabulous! :)

Great take on the theme. I love how you showed the spectrum of smelly.

Are the sea lions just getting some sun? There sure are a lot of them! Great pics!

I bet those sealions are quite a sight, great to be able to get so close to them, thats if the stink isn't to strong.

Happy to help

Cheers Mark

what great smelly shots!!

what great smelly shots!!

Yeah, these occupiers of Fisherman's Wharf smell like there is not tomorrow ;-)

You pulled up nice souvenirs ! I remember these sea lions at fisherman's wharf ! they were soo cute ! But I don't remember any bad smell, lol !

Sea lions! Ark, ark, ark, ark. There's a passel of sea lions living under the Santa Cruz Wharf, and on a breezy day you can hear them from a mile away at Seabright Beach. But not smell them. Thank god for small mercies.

Was that a nice-smelling rose? The Peninsula Park Rose Garden by our house needs some more smelly varieties and fewer scentless vapid hybrid teas. IMHO, o'course.

gee this is the second of seals sunning on wharves and I never had heard of it. It makes going to California very enticing!

I've been to the warf many times, and I have to agree, those seals are a little on the smelly side! Funny how noisy they can be too!
